Homemade Vegetarian Burgers

 

Makes about 6 burgers (depending how thick you make them)

Preparation time 30 minutes

Cooking time around 10 minutes

(depending what you are cooking on & how thick)


(can be served cold once cooked)

 

You will need:

2 tsp of any Secret Chef Rub

200g Carrots diced (as small as possible)

200g Mushrooms diced (as small as possible)

180g (1 tin) Mixed cooked beans mashed down with a potato masher (but not to a paste)

1 medium onion diced (as small as possible)

1 egg beaten

25g of bread crumbs or 1 broken up weetabix (who’s got bread crumbs in the cupboard anymore?)

 

Combine all ingredients together.

Shape into burger patties and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.

Remove from fridge 20 minutes prior to cooking on the BBQ, under the grill, in a frying pan or in the oven.

 

Alternatively form into veggie balls, fry in a hot pan and add to your favourite tomato sauce
