Wild Plum Chutney

(Makes approx. 500g)

Preparation time 20 minutes

Cooking time approx. 35 minutes

You will need:

4 tsp Moroccan Seasoning

800g Wild Plums (shop bought plums will do) washed, halved and stoned

1 large Onion, diced

200g Sugar
100ml Cider Vinegar
1 Lemon juiced

Add the vinegar, lemon juice, Moroccan seasoning, sugar and onions to a large saucepan and bring to the boil. Simmer until all the sugar has dissolved.

Add the wild plums and simmer, stirring often until thickened.

The chutney is ready when you can run a wooden spoon across the bottom

of the pan leaving a clear bottom showing when the spoon is pulled away.

Spoon the hot chutney into warm sterilised jars and seal.

Store the jars in a dark place and keep for a couple of months before opening to allow the flavour to mature.

If You can wait until matured

Serve with cold meats, cheeses or with Moroccan lamb kebobs.
